  • Tell me about your previous work/life history and highlight some areas that you feel would transition well into the position you are applying for. 

  • What do you know about the job you are applying for?

  • Why are you applying for this job?

  • Tell me about a time when your work was criticized or questioned and how did you handle it and what did you do to change it?

  • Have you ever been in a position of leadership?

  • What do you do when there is not enough work on the job you are performing?

  • What type of people challenges your patience?

  • Have you ever worked with someone you did not get along with and how did you handle that situation?

  • Have you ever been part of a safety team or committee or participated in any safety programs?

  • If you witness a fellow employee performing an unsafe act what do you do?

  • If your supervisor asks you to perform an unsafe act what do you do?

  • Can you read a tape measure down to 1/16”?  (A significant skill when applying for a manufacturing position)

  • Are you available to work any shift, hours and days?

  • Tell me 3 things or areas that you can improve upon, personal or professional.  (Very easy for someone to tell you 3 things they are good at)

  • How would your previous or current employer describe you?

  • What do you feel is an acceptable amount of days to miss work per year?

  • Do you prefer to work alone or as part of a team?

  • If in a team setting, do you prefer to lead or follow the group?

  • Tell me why I should hire you.
